On Oct. 10, 2013, the National Agricultural Law Center at the University of Arkansas will host a webinar titled, “Enforcing Animal Welfare Statutes: Whose Job Is It, Anyway?” from 12-1 (CDT)/1-2 (EST). The program will address the authority of private citizens to enforce animal welfare laws at homes, farms, and businesses. Nationally, the authority ranges from the power to arrest to the ability to seize and destroy property.
The Center will assist attorneys seeking CLE approval in Oregon and elsewhere. Written CLE materials will identify and discuss states’ laws in this area, which will be a very handy resource. Cost of the program is $95. For more info including online registration, just head to the Center’s website at www.nationalaglawcenter.org and select the Center Outreach tab.
